My name is Cassidy Chisholm and I am a journalism major studying at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I have aspired to be a journalist since I was thirteen years old and I stuck with it because of my passion for writing and informing people of what they need to know.
Ignorance is bliss but I think that a life of ignorance would get pretty boring. I would say that I want to be a journalist, that I want to get my degree, and say it’s official; that I am a journalist. However, in my first year of university, I was out on the streets walking up to strangers by myself asking questions. I am already a journalist. I have been working hard since I published my first article in my hometown’s newspaper, the Grand Lake Mirror.
I currently freelance at the Grand Lake Mirror, writing a few articles a month and I am also the features editor at The Aquinian, STU’s student publication.
I will keep working hard and I hope that with this blog, my improvements show as I update. I want to improve on my writing and video editing. I want to capture all the elements of what it takes to be a journalist. This blog will be a testament to my improvement and dedication.
